In case you are encountering the following error when running a query that includes a ‘complex’ filter in Exact Online:
Could not execute the specified command: This $filter parameter is not supported for this resource. This error may be caused by the following: usage of OData functions such as 'substringof(...)', usage of the 'not' operator, syntax errors in the $filter parameter, the $filter parameter is too complex.
A straightforward solution to resolve this issue is to toggle the 'UseBulkAPI' property to 'False' in the Connection Editor (connection string), which is typically set to 'True' by default.
