When running DBAmp commands, you might receive the following error message: "Error: DBAmp/Pro Subscription has expired. Please contact forceAmp.com for a valid key." If your subscription has expired, then you should contact us at [email protected] to renew that subscription. Once you renew your subscription and get a new serial key, be sure to replace your existing serial key with it. If you simply add the new serial number to the list, the expired serial number will still cause an error.
To replace it, make sure you are on the machine that contains the SQL instance where DBAmp is installed and that is seeing this error. Then, locate and run the DBAmp Configuration Program as Administrator. In that program, go to the Configuration menu, then choose Serial Numbers. Double-click on the old, expired number and replace it with your new key.
On that screen, there should be no serial numbers that read as expired, with the exception of any serial numbers that say '(Expired)' or that claim that they expired in 1999. If you do see an expired serial number with a date that is not in 1999, replace that number with your new serial key. You may need to double click on an existing expired number for it to allow you to remove it.
Note that most of the above is only for older versions of DBAmp. If you are getting an error about an expired serial number and you have DBAmp v22 or later, then you will need to find the appropriate DBAmp Configuration Program as above, then go to Help > Licensing and choose to Update License.
