I just noticed the EOL announcement for  CData DBAmp versions prior to v22 on this page.  My organization is still on version 4.1.8.

  1.  I’m interpreting this announcement to mean that version 4.1.8 will continue to work as long as we have a valid license key.  So it will still be running on say, 1/31/2025.  Is this correct?
  2. I keep getting surprised by these announcements.  Besides coming to the CDATA site and browsing around, how can I stay up to date on important news?

I WILL be talking to my manager about upgrading to the most current version ASAP, but we will need time for lots of testing.

Hi @nrapoza

The End of Life is mostly an End of Support - meaning after 31st December 2024, CData will no longer offer technical support, updates, or fixes for v4.1.8 or other pre-v22 versions of DBAmp (v5.1.9 and earlier). After that date, v4.1.8 will not break immediately, so you will continue using it for some time. However, due to changes over time with the Salesforce API, older versions of DBamp will eventually break since they will be using an older version of the API. We are not able to predict when exactly that will be. You will need to change to the new version eventually.

The main issue is that old enough versions of DBAmp can't understand serial numbers that expire in 2025 or later. That would be versions 3.x.y, so as long as you are past that, you should be fine to keep using it into the new year until you can get fully moved over.
