CData Connect for business users, thoughts?

I’m curious to hear how folks are using CData Connect, in particular on-prem in a business setting.  It seems one need we keep running across is that non-technical folks want to be able to download their data to Excel.  So often what they’ll do is have someone create a Tableau Dashboard and publish it to Tableau Server, but then they ignore the dashboard and go straight to the “Download” button to send the data to Excel.  But then because Tableau is inflexible they rarely like what Tableau gives them so they end up having to do a lot of manual work to get to what they really need.  I’m imagining that CData Connect could eliminate the middle man, so that if someone with enough SQL knowledge could define the SQL query, then it could be made available on CData Connect for anyone that has rights to access it and they could download the data that they need in the format they desire.  Other more technical folks might have the alternative of doing the same sort of thing using Toad or similar

Is my laptop powerful enough to run multiple CData ODBC drivers for concurrent API connections?

Hi everyone,I’m currently working on a project that involves connecting to several cloud APIs (like Salesforce, HubSpot, and Google Analytics) using CData ODBC drivers. I’m running everything locally from my Windows 11 laptop (16GB RAM, Intel i5, SSD).I’m planning to set up multiple concurrent ODBC connections through a BI tool and possibly through some custom scripts. Before I go all in, I wanted to ask: Is this laptop spec sufficient for running several CData drivers simultaneously without performance issues? Are there any known CPU or memory bottlenecks when using multiple drivers at once? Would virtualization (like using Docker or WSL) complicate or help with performance? Any tips for optimizing driver performance on a laptop setup — like cache settings or connection pooling? I’m mainly doing this for development and testing, but I’d like to keep it as close to a production simulation as possible.Would love to hear your thoughts or setups!Thanks in advance. 🙏

"The table has no visible columns and cannot be queried." error when refreshing semantic model in Power BI Online

I'm unable to refresh my Power BI Semantic Model on Power BI Online and am running into the error below. I’m using the QuickBooks Power BI Connector. Data source error{"error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","parameters":{},"details":[{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorCode","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorMessage","detail":{"type":1,"value":"The table has no visible columns and cannot be queried."}}.... The semantic model is tied to my Profit & Loss Standard Report, which was generated using the CreateReportSchema Stored Procedure, and works fine on Power BI Desktop. How can I resolve this issue?

Using OAuth 2.0 to access Gmail Inbox from SSIS package

Google now requires OAuth 2.0 to access Gmail, and my SSIS package had stopped working.I did quite extensive research, but still can’t figure out how to make my CData Gmail Connection Manager to access my company’s Gmail Inbox. Can someone please provide a guidance (ideally step-by-step) on how to make my SSIS package query the Gmail Inbox using either CData SSIS Components for Gmail or CData SSIS Components for Email.

CreateCustomReportSchema Stored Procedure fails for Report of Customer aging header object

When I attempt to create a custom report schema using the CreateCustomReportSchema Stored Procedure in Connect Cloud, I am immediately faced with an error of “The query failed with the following error: [XXX] . Object type CUSTAGINGHEADER not found [Support ID: A7zYCWEB031%7EaBE82P4709e47gZ-UY9JLgAAABg].” How do I resolve this?

Connect Spreadsheets to Sage in South Africa

I am trying to setup Connect Spreadsheets to Sage One (renamed to Sage Business Cloud Accounting) but when I want to setup the authentication via the basic setup I don’t get South Africa as a region and can therefor not authenticate to our company in Sage. Any assistance would be appreciated.

SharePoint - Insert Behavior for ID Column on Custom Lists

When creating a custom List in SharePoint, whether through the SharePoint GUI or using the CData driver, several default columns are added automatically. One of these is the “ID” column, which is the primary key for the List.Although the “ID” column is marked as read-only in the column metadata, SharePoint does not consistently enforce this restriction during data insertion. The actual behavior depends on whether you are using the REST or SOAP schema. REST:When inserting records using the REST schema, the “ID” column can be included in the insert statement:INSERT INTO MyCustomList (ID, Column1) VALUES (1234, 'Hello REST');In this case, all data in the statement, including the explicitly set “ID” value, is persisted in SharePoint. While the CData driver typically raises an error such as:Column [ColumnName] could not be inserted. Connect Spreadsheets Error - exception: service spreadsheets timed out while accessing document with id

Connected to Sage Intacct data via Google Sheets.  When processing a basic query of 15 fields (no formulas) I receive this error after about 136,000+ rows.  This ran fine in MS Excel.  I’ve set Timeout to 0 but the issue persists.  Are there other Advanced Settings that should be changed to allow for up to 250,000 rows to load?

Connect Cloud - How to open and return data from a specific csv file saved in a sharepoint folder?

Hi Community!I’m trying to create a source to sharepoint where we can navigate to a specific file saved on the sharepoint location and open the contents of a csv or xlsm file. Is this possible? I have the sharepoint connection created using AzureAD authentication method. Using a query such as this:  SELECT * FROM [Sharepoint_testing].[REST].[Financial Models] where Name like '%.xlsm%' I can get the various file names contained in the Sharepoint location, and see things like file size, modify date, etc. At this point, I can’t figure out how to use the file name retrieved and then query it to get at the contents of it… any help with this?  TIA for the assist, i appreciate it.

SAP Success Factors - Get Data Error related to snapshot based pagination

When querying my data from SAP SF or running my package in SSIS, I’m getting the following error message: Get data error: [COE_SNAPSHOT_BAD_REQUEST] We have temporarily blocked the snapshot pagination request from companyUser Test |ODATA for all entities until Thu Mar 20 15:51:40 UTC 2025 because too many consecutive requests have been attempted without accessing subsequent data.

New SharePoint Views: Sites, AllLists, AllFiles

As of Version: 24.0.9190 of the CData Drivers and Connectors for SharePoint, the following new views have been added to the REST schema:Sites: The new Sites view retrieves all sites across the SharePoint domain. AllLists: Retrieves lists from all SharePoint sites and subsites within the domain. Power automate Limitations on CDATA Cloud

I am currently working on a Power Automate flow that fetches transaction line data from Exact Online using the CDATA Cloud connector. The goal is to group the data based on GLAccountCode while retrieving the minimum (LeastFinancialYear) and maximum (HighestFinancialYear) financial years. Below is the SQL query being executed:SELECT GLAccountCode, MIN(FinancialYear) AS LeastFinancialYear,  MAX(FinancialYear) AS HighestFinancialYear  FROM [ExactOnline1].[3243703].[TransactionLines]  GROUP BY GLAccountCode; Since this query processes a large dataset, it takes a considerable amount of time to execute. However, Power Automate has a 2-minute timeout limitation for SQL queries, causing the flow to fail before retrieving the results.I would appreciate any guidance on optimizing the query or any best practices to handle large dataset processing efficiently within Power Automate. Encountering "Unable to retrieve columns for table [tablename]" error when querying invoice and timeentry tables within NetSuite's SuiteQL schema

When executing queries on either of the invoice or timeentry tables in the SuiteQL schema within your NetSuite connection, you may receive the following error, replacing <tablename> with the name of the table being queried:Unable to retrieve columns for table [<tablename>].This error may be encountered even when permissions are properly configured and when the connection is successfully tested.
