I installed the CData Excel Add-In for Google Calendar, but the Update Rows button, which is responsible for changing the table to change events in the Google Calendar button is not active. Although the connection to the calendar was established successfully. Can you help, please?

Hello, thanks for joining us at the CData Community!

Something important to note about the Excel add-ins we offer is that the “Update Rows” and “Delete Rows” buttons which are used to modify data from the data source are only going to selectable on tables that actually support data modification. For example, the “Calendars” table supports updates and deletes so you can use those options freely there.

However, it sounds like you are referring to the “EventsInstances” view. Views are similar to tables in the way that data is represented; however, views do not support updates. Entities that are represented as views are typically read-only entities, and as such the “Update Rows” and “Delete Rows” buttons will be grayed out as they are unusable in these circumstances.

This is a direct limitation of the Google Calendar API, meaning that external tools that make use of this API (such as our Excel add-in) will be limited in that regard as well.
