You should be able to enable the Automatic Job Retry feature via the REST API by sending it in the body of a PUT request as in the example below:

It looks like the help documentation is yet to be updated to reflect this addition however you can find this information when accessing the API tab on the left pane in Sync and read more on the Job Management section:
