Hello,

My department uses the CData API Server for OData connections. We’re currently on software version  23.0.8844.0, and it appears the current release is 25.3.9411. Is there a changelog available to show the differences, so we can assess when to upgrade?

Additionally, I am unable to find the installation package for the API Server on the website. https://www.cdata.com/download/ does not appear to list it.

Ideally it would be in a location our deployment scripting could pull from with wget.

Thanks!

-John Horton

Hi @John-Horton

You can find the download link for the newest API Server version below:https://www.cdata.com/apiserver/download/

However before going ahead and installing the v25 version, it is important to clarify that a lot has changed in v25 and if you are planning for a migration from v23 to v25 you might need some assistance from one of our support specialists.

First of all, can you please confirm what edition of the API Server (23.0.8844.0) you are using? Is it the Java edition or .NET edition? You can find it in the About tab of the API Server UI.

In API Server v23, we used to offer both .NET and Java editions however for API Server v25, we have discontinued the .NET edition and offer only the Java version. The migration steps are different depending on which edition you have with API Server v23 (v23 .NET → v25 Java vs. v23 Java → v25 Java).

The v25 version of API Server features a redesigned UI and enhanced capabilities along with several other changes but we don't currently have the changes organized in a changelog. I would recommend you submit a support ticket so that our team can further help you with the migration and provide you with a detailed list of the main changes in the newest version of API Server.

Thanks for the info!
We’re using the Java version with the built-in Jetty server, spun up on AWS EC2s.
We’re just in the planning stages now, figuring out what part of the year we’ll start in on the upgrade.
I’ll definitely reach out to support when we go through with it, and we’ll test the new version in a lower environment for a while before moving to prod.

Thanks again,
