In the coming days, I’m getting a new laptop with a qualcomm chip. The product I have is the CData Excel Add-In for QuickBooks Online 2021 (RNXGA) (Perpetual use). Will this product work on an ARM-based Windows device? Or will I need to find an alternate solution?

Hi Joey,

Thank you for your continued interest in our tools! Unfortunately, our Excel add-ins are not designed with the architecture of ARM based systems in mind, so it is very unlikely that the add-in will work properly, especially if it’s an older build of the add-in like you’re requesting.

You could try a trial period of the most recent build of the add-in, to see if that would be supported first. You can download that from here:

https://www.cdata.com/drivers/qbonline/download/excel/

If this build works properly, then I’d recommend contacting our sales team at [email protected] to discuss upgrading your license for the most recent version.

Hi @Joey F

We have recently added ARM64 support to our ODBC and PowerBI connectors in Windows however I don’t think there are any plans to support the same in our Excel Add-ins. That said, if you are considering an alternate solution you might want to explore the ODBC driver for Quickbooks Online:

https://www.cdata.com/drivers/qbonline/download/odbc/

The main difference between the Excel add-in and ODBC driver is that unlike the add-in that is plugged in Excel and designed to be used solely within Excel, the ODBC driver is a more generic tool that can be configured to be used in any ODBC compatible tool including Excel. You can read more from the resources below:
