When using a CData NetSuite connector for a NetSuite data source, you may encounter NULL data values that correspond to Date fields in your original data. This has been seen occurring when using the SuiteQL API in particular. To remedy the situation, one solution is to use a TO_DATE function in your SQL statement. For example, a field called “Purchase”.purchaseDate would be included in a manner such as the following:TO_DATE(“Purchase”.purchaseDate, ‘YYYY-MM-DD’) AS “purchase_date”where the date format and alias are adjustable based on your needs.
Hi, I am trying to use the NETSUITE ODBC driver within Visual Studio SSIS project, everything connects good but when selecting some tables, I noticed that there are some missing fields in the table, for example in the table item, the field subsidiary is missing: But in the log file, the json has it: Should I need to set something else in the configuration? How can I solve this? Thanks.
Hi , I am getting error while connecting GA4(Google Analytics 4) to Tableau desktop using cdata connect with cdata connector and GoogleAnalytics by cdata. If anyone has some suggestion on this or anyone is trying to achieve the same then let me know. Regards,Pankaj
Hello Everyone, We all know the power of Tableau in providing insights from our data. But have you ever struggled with inaccessible data across your tech stack? Or faced challenges when there is no built-in support from Tableau for your vital applications or data sources? We would love to hear about your experiences and how these challenges have impacted your work. Sharing these experiences can help us all learn and grow! To help address these issues, we're hosting a FREE WEBINAR on June 22nd at 11am EST, where we will introduce how Tableau & Tableau Cloud can be seamlessly integrated with our Data Connectivity-as-a-Service platform, CData Connect Cloud. This solution provides real-time access to hundreds of sources, without any need for coding or installation. CData's Sr. Technology Evangelist, Jerod Johnson, and Tableau Ambassador and Leader of the RDU Tableau User Group, Christopher Scott, will be joining us. They will not only discuss how Tableau and CData are transforming data
Trying to use a cData ODBC DSN in Excel to connect to an OLAP cube in Azure Analysis Services on macOS.
ObjectiveTrying to use a cData DSN in Excel to connect to an OLAP cube in Azure Analysis Services on macOS. I can successful setup the DSN in iODBC Data Manager and it tests successfully, but when I try to use the DSN in Excel I get a “Could not bind server socket: Operation not permitted”. I have screen-grabbed all my steps below in the attached PDF.
This error is thrown when querying Snowflake and indicates that a Snowflake object is unable to be accessed due to a permissions issue. To resolve this, please check that your user has access to (and that none of the user's roles are preventing access to) the Warehouse and Database listed in the connection string, as well as any specified Schema and Tables. Additionally, please check that these values have the correct spelling and casing (as Snowflake is case-sensitive).
We are a new CData user, connecting Acumatica oData as the source to SQL Server OLE DB destination. It works great for the initial configuration of the data flow, but we often change the underlying Acumatica query (i.e. add columns). I can’t seem to find a way to refresh the available columns in the CDdata Acumatica Source Editor screen. If I click the preview button, the new columns appear there correctly with data, but how are the columns added to the Columns node of the Editor screen? Along those lines, is there a way to refresh the list of available Generic Inquiries for new oData sources? The first time you log into Visual Studio the list of available inquiries refreshes, but after that I have to just use the Advanced Editor and hand-write the name of the query. Thanks for any feedback!
I am trying to insert a manual journal entry into Xero using below SQL insert statement. And I get the following error. “A validation exception occurred: The total Debits (1.50) must equal total credits (0.00)" It suggests that cdata is not processing it as one API post but as 2 posts and Xero spits back an error because it expects both lines in the POST api. INSERT into ManualJournals ( JournalLine_AccountCode, JournalLine_LineAmount, Narration) VALUES (620, 1.50, 'Test1'), (611, -1.50, 'Test1');Any ideas would be appreciated.
The QuickBooks Gateway (formerly Remote Connector) is useful if you want to access QuickBooks in a situation where direct COM access to QuickBooks is not available, such as in ASP.NET, Java, or QuickBooks on a remote machine. To authenticate to the QuickBooks company file, you will first need to create a user in the QuickBooks Gateway. Upon pressing Test Connection on that user, a prompt will open and ask you to authenticate it to QuickBooks. Note that QuickBooks must be open as an administrator in single-user mode for this to succeed. Then, you will need to open the QuickBooks DSN/Connection Manager/Connection String Builder and, in the Remote section, enter the information on the QuickBooks Gateway user you just created. The User and Password will be the username and password of your QuickBooks Gateway user, and the URL will be the URL of the QuickBooks Gateway. Note that the Company File property can be left blank, as the QuickBooks Gateway has already specified which company file to
Hi!I’m using the Excel add-in to connect to Zoho Books. I would like to get all “BillLineItems” from Zoho. The BillLineItems is a standard view or table. It is not possible to use the SELECT * command in order to retrieve all lineitems. It is required to a specify a BillID (key) number in order to get the data for that specific bill from this table (as I understand).Maybe it is my lack of knowledge of SQL. Do you have any suggestions how to get all BillLineitems? Thanks in advanve for your response.Regards,Marc
When double clicking on the CData source, I am getting the following error. “Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.DataWarehouse, Version=184.108.40.206, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.”

We are getting the error message when we tried to install the JDBC on Linux machine.Error:Downloading license data...Error downloading license: Connection reset We were given the linux setup link to download the setup.zip file, after downloading we are not being able to install the JDBC driver on Linux Machine.we are using- “java -jar cdata.jdbc.xero.jar -license” command from linux terminal to install the driver. Please suggest.Thanks.
We need to request for transfer of the license from one machine to another, for that we need to get the NodeId of both the machine, the new machine is Linux where we need to transfer the license, as per the Cdata tool to get the NodeId :- https://www.cdata.com/lic/nodeid.exe we can get the NodeId from windows system, but it this tool is not working for Linux system, we also tried ‘Wine’ to run this .exe but we did not got the NodeId, can anybody suggest how to get the NodeId from Linux system. Thanks in advance
I need to locate the file path my tool is referencing the CData JDBC Driver from. I needed to manually move it in the past to a new location outside the installation directory to get the tool to use it, but after time have forgotten where that path was.
Did you know….CData Drivers provides rich data and offer an out-of-the-box experience, supporting a number of technology stacks including JDBC, ODBC, and ADO.NET. Here are four other ways CData enriches your data experience. Universal Standards: CData optimizes the interoperability of APIs by exposing mapped resources for common use cases and operations to a corresponding relational model, with tables, views, and stored procedures, making it easy for developers to code against it like they would with any other database driver. Data Model: CData drivers automatically detect complex structures and metadata, then model them in a relational manner or other configurations, making it easier to connect to the data you need. If you know SQL, you can build user-defined views, manipulate the data model, and define custom entities.Query language - Standard SQL query 92 language – You don’t need to learn all of the different variations of SQL. A full SQL-92-ready query engine is built into each
Did you know…CData heavily invests and proactively monitors APIs and data sources for changes such as new objects, actions, compatibility criteria, and deprecation of features, to ensure CData drivers are kept up-to-date and maintenance-free for you. Here are some ways CData maintains drivers and connectors:CData engineering teams subscribe to the data source and technology developer portals to proactively monitor CData builds and nurtures working relationships with technical partners, OEM companies, and data source and technology tool vendors to “be in the know” of upcoming innovations and changes. CData addresses critical changes and external unplanned circumstances with priority CData provides quarterly publicly available releases, and one-off emergency fixes as necessary

Hello All,I am using the CData OBDC driver and Remote Connector to integrate SQL Server with QuickBooks Desktop. I have SLQ stored procedures that query QB as a linked server. I'm using this to query the QB customer list and insert timesheet records. It works great 90% of the time. About 10% of the time QB throws and error "QBW32.EXE - Fatal Application Exit" with an open dialog box on the server which must be manually acknowledged. Everything works fine again once the error is acknowledged.QuickBooks Desktop along with the QB company file are installed on a server. The CData OBDC driver and Remote Connector are also installed on the same server. This installation of QB desktop is dedicated to the SQL integration. Other users in the company access the QB company file from local installations of QB Desktop on their PC'sThere is an external app that triggers the SQL stored procs. It was my intention to run the integration unattended on the server. The Remote Connector will automatically
Hi CData community, We are building a KPI tracking SAAS at Datapad and we’re using CData Drivers as the backbone.Essentially, any user is able to login with a data source through OAuth and can create metrics & reports. We wanted to as if there is a best-practice to create a querying layer that would work accross all integrations. We want to:Show a list of available metrics (numeric / aggregation fields) Display a list of available dimensions (text / group by fields) Users can add filters to available dimensions (matching criteria) Users can change the aggregation on metrics (sum, avg etc) Support for special datetime dimension which fetch data grouped by (hour, day, time, ..) We were thinking of building a dynamic SQL query builder to accomplish this. Before we proceed we wanted to ask the community if there is any best-practice OR previous experience regarding our use-case. Thanks in advance !
I’m curious to hear how folks are using CData Connect, in particular on-prem in a business setting. It seems one need we keep running across is that non-technical folks want to be able to download their data to Excel. So often what they’ll do is have someone create a Tableau Dashboard and publish it to Tableau Server, but then they ignore the dashboard and go straight to the “Download” button to send the data to Excel. But then because Tableau is inflexible they rarely like what Tableau gives them so they end up having to do a lot of manual work to get to what they really need. I’m imagining that CData Connect could eliminate the middle man, so that if someone with enough SQL knowledge could define the SQL query, then it could be made available on CData Connect for anyone that has rights to access it and they could download the data that they need in the format they desire. Other more technical folks might have the alternative of doing the same sort of thing using Toad or similar
